Maw books I didn’t even know that the magazine existed until late last year, too, but if there’s one thing I can smell out it’s a way to get free lit mag subscriptions. Heh.

Danielle it’s funny that you didn’t know about it since your blog is one of the places I first read about Bookmarks. One is readers’ submissions and the other is done by experts in a particular field. Happy to give you more reading ideas, too.

Dark O yes, ever so often a friend and I argue over who did it better Davis or Scott-Moncrieff. I wasn’t half as impressed with James Grieve’s translation of the second book.

Eva yes, I do know what you mean! I aped the book blurb on purpose since I thought that the more “professional” I sounded the higher my chances of getting printed. No idea if that worked in my favour or not. I think the list’s “eclecticism” carried more weight.
